JAMES MAURICE CLARK
Canadian artist James Maurice Clark was born in southwestern Ontario, Canada and grew up in the Detroit Metro area. James was educated at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec where he received a masters degree in architecture. He also received another masters degree in criminology from the University of Cambridge.
In 2013 James founded the Calgary, Alberta based architecture firm Systemic Architecture Inc. During his career in architecture he has constructed works totaling over $1bn CDN in value, and has a wide portfolio of sites and buildings.
While architecture occupies the majority of his time, various creative explorations have branched out into media such as photography and painting. His thinking regarding fine arts is that design is all fundamentally one discipline, be it the creation of buildings, photographs, sculptures or paintings. James presents those works here under the nom-de-plume MESMAU.
